Spring classes run March 13th - May 19th
Topics Class: Wood Firing
This class is an opportunity to learn about wood firing through creating work and participating in the wood firings at Maine Prairie Studio. Students will have the opportunity to participate in one or two wood firings during the ten week session. Class time will be focused on learning about making forms for the wood kilns, slips and glazes for the wood kilns and the wood firing process. Students should have some previous experiences with clay as introductory processes will not be taught during class.
Special Topics: Wood Firing “ The animal awaits” , Mondays 6-9pm
Open studio access for students during our 10 week classes is included with your registration. Open studio access is designed for students who would like additional studio time outside of their scheduled classes. No instruction is provided during open studio times. Missed classes can be made up during open studio but not rescheduled.
Open studio hours starting March 18th, 2023 are:
10 am - 6 pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
1 pm - 8 pm Thursdays and Fridays
10 am - 8 pm Saturdays
Your registration will include: class instruction, 25# clay, open studio access, access to our common tools, pottery wheels, ware racks, slips, glazes, bisque and glaze firing for 10 weeks. Additional firing costs may be incurred depending on the amount of work made.
