Class information
Fall clay classes run for ten weeks from Sept. 9 - Nov. 15, 2024. Class will meet once a week for 10 weeks. Classes are held at our location in downtown Kimball, 70 Main Street S.
Your class registration includes: class instruction, 25 pounds of clay, open studio access, access to our common tools, pottery wheels, ware racks, slips, glazes, bisque and glaze firing with up to two 12 x 24 kiln shelves of work included for 10 weeks. Additional firing costs may be incurred depending on the amount of work made. Firing costs will be calculated based on the number of 12 x 24 shelves used by each individual in our cone 10 reduction kiln. The cost per shelf is $25.

Special Topics: Independent Study
6pm - 9pm, $350

Expand your pottery skills! This class is intended for intermediate or advanced students who want to focus independently on one or more topics in clay, with instructional support. Possible topics could include throwing or handbuilding techniques, mold making or surface design and application of slips or glazes.

Beginning Wheel
6pm - 9pm, $350
Instructor: JD
Learn how to use the pottery wheel in this ten week class geared for beginners or students with an introductory exposure to the wheel. During this class, students will learn to create a variety of forms on the wheel including cylinders, bowls and vases. Students will also explore applying slip and glaze to the work.

Beginning Wheel: Ages 10 +
5:30 - 8:30 pm, $350

Learn how to use the pottery wheel in this ten week class geared for beginners, or students with an introductory exposure to the wheel. Students under the age of 14 should be accompanied by an adult.

Introduction to Pottery: Handbuilding and Wheel
10 am - 1 pm, $350
Instructor: Megan
Explore both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. This class is designed for beginning students who are interested in a variety of ways to create handmade pottery. It would also be suitable for students with wheel throwing experience who wish to add handbuilding to their repertoire.

Mixed Levels Wheel
10 am - 1 pm, $350
Instructor: Megan
Learn wheel throwing techniques in this ten week class geared for beginning to intermediate level students. The class will include introductory wheel throwing and trimming instruction as well as more advanced topics such as throwing larger forms and altering. Students will also explore applying slip and glaze to the work.
Open Studio hours, available for all registered students
These open studio hours are included in the cost of the class. Open studio hours start on Sept. 14.
