Our Mission

Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson, located in Kimball, Minnesota. The studio aims to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, Maine Prairie Studio supports local, regional and national artists through internships, apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

Welcome!

2026 Artist in Residence, Marian Lyndgaard

Marian Lyndgaard is a multidisciplinary artist whose work investigates interspecies relationships as a way to challenge and soften the boundaries we place between ourselves, other beings, and the spaces we inhabit. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts (2025) and earned a BA from the College of Saint Benedict in 2005 in Art as well as a minor in Art Education. She is an art educator and has 3 beautiful boys and lives with her husband Kyhl in the woods.

Her project goal is to create a body of clay to fire in a prairie prescribed burn. She will source material from the land she lives on and research her family’s heritage to create symbolic items for the firing.

Marian wants to experiment with prairie plants as ash to act as glaze material to further explore how fire can represent part of the relationships with the prairie ecosystem.

She will be working in the studio during the month of June and will also have a public workshop August 1st.
