Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson, located in Kimball, Minnesota. Our studio's mission is to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, we support local, regional and national artists through internships, apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

Retreats at Maine Prairie Studio are one to two weeks in length, and offer an intensive but casual exploration of ceramic processes. The retreat includes demonstrations, work time and firings of either the gas or wood kiln. Retreats are offered on a set schedule several times a summer starting in June 2025. Retreats can also be scheduled by an individual or a group.

The cost for a retreat is $600/ week, which includes studio access, camping and some meals. Materials and firing costs will be charged separately.

Retreats:

  • Retreats at Maine Prairie Studio are one to two weeks long, offering an immersive yet relaxed exploration of ceramic techniques.
  • The retreat features demonstrations, work time, and firings using either the gas or wood kiln.
  • The retreat fee is $600 per week, including studio access, camping, and some meals. Additional charges apply for materials and firings.
