I have been taking classes at Maine Prairie Studio since September 2025. I had no experience with clay, but always wanted to try throwing. Megan is so patient, knowledgeable, & great sense of humor.
I LOVE my Prairiewares set, I have the dishes, mugs, tumblers, bowls and dessert plates. I couldn’t decide on one color, so I asked if I could choose 4 different colors for my set of four and they said yes. They are beautiful and I love the uniqueness of each piece. My dad and I did this class, and we both had the best time! My dad hasn’t spun a pottery wheel since high school, and it was my first ever time, and we loved every second of it! JD was incredible helpful, kind, and knowledgeable - he was the best teacher! Thanks so much for offering this class and having us! We will be back :)

I purchased this beautiful plate from the Maine Prairie pop-up store in Duluth, and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces to use at our table. I love its simple yet elegant design, and the beautiful craftsmanship truly makes every meal look even more special. Each time I use it, it highlights the food in such a lovely way. I'm looking forward to adding more pieces from their collection!
The gas kiln firing fees are a great bargain. I'm a potter without a kiln and I fire my work at Maine Prairie Studio. Very reasonable rates and able to use glazes and slips!
Super fun beginner classes in a relaxed, go at your own pace atmosphere! Can't wait to go again!
Great Workshop
The 10 week handbuilding class with Megan was informative and fun. I learned many new skills to incorporate into my handbuilding projects. Megan and JD have years of experience that they share with students in a friendly atmosphere.
I love everything about Maine Prairie Studios. From the owners, to the other patrons, to the easy-going atmosphere, and of course, the clay. 😁
