Our Mission
Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson, located in Kimball, Minnesota. The studio aims to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, Maine Prairie Studio supports local, regional and national artists through internships, apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

The Storied Table at Saint John's Abbey
Join us this fall for an unforgettable evening of storytelling, community, and extraordinary food set on the breathtaking grounds of St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota, a place where sacred tradition, creative expression, and the beauty of the natural world converge.
We are honored and delighted to be a partner with The Storied Table and make all the dinnerware and serviceware for the wonderful event. Thirteen different color variations of Prairiewares will be a part of the 5 course meal. The menu created by James Beard-nominated chefs Mateo Mackbee and Erin Mackbee, the acclaimed culinary team behind Krewe Restaurant and Flour & Flower Bakery in nearby St. Joseph.

Leather-hard Surfaces- A hands on workshop with Nick DeVries

Learn moreIn this hands-on workshop participants will learn techniques and processes to build interesting textures and surfaces on leather hard cylinders. Leather hard cylinders will be provided for the workshop as well as tools and additional materials. Participants are encouraged to bring in personal tools or items that may offer unique textural or surface interactions with the clay. DeVries will demonstrate how he approaches finishing work at the leather hard stage by finishing a tall pitcher and a covered jar during the workshop.
