I have been taking classes at Maine Prairie Studio since September 2025. I had no experience with clay, but always wanted to try throwing. Megan is so patient, knowledgeable, & great sense of humor.
I LOVE my Prairiewares set, I have the dishes, mugs, tumblers, bowls and dessert plates. I couldn’t decide on one color, so I asked if I could choose 4 different colors for my set of four and they said yes. They are beautiful and I love the uniqueness of each piece. The gas kiln firing fees are a great bargain. I'm a potter without a kiln and I fire my work at Maine Prairie Studio. Very reasonable rates and able to use glazes and slips!
Super fun beginner classes in a relaxed, go at your own pace atmosphere! Can't wait to go again!
Great Workshop
The 10 week handbuilding class with Megan was informative and fun. I learned many new skills to incorporate into my handbuilding projects. Megan and JD have years of experience that they share with students in a friendly atmosphere.
I love everything about Maine Prairie Studios. From the owners, to the other patrons, to the easy-going atmosphere, and of course, the clay. 😁
Our ladies' group toured the Maine Prairie Studio and Kiln....what a wonderful, educational experience. We definitely will schedule another tour and/or a class for our members to take part in. Thank you, JD, from the Lady Slippers!!!

Maine Prairie Studio is a great place to create pottery and take classes. The staff is very friendly and supportive. The studio is kept very clean and is a great place to create. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone interested in creating pottery..
