Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson, located in Kimball, Minnesota. The studio aims to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, Maine Prairie Studio supports local, regional and national artists through internships, apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

Students interning at Maine Prairie Studio play an active and important role in day-to-day studio coordination, education, community outreach and public relations.

Internships:

  • Internships provide a chance to learn within a community-based ceramics and teaching studio.
  • Internships are focused on studio operations, education, physical and online gallery management, or marketing and communications.
  • The duration of internships is usually one semester, with interns dedicating around 10 hours per week at the studio.
  • Interns receive a complimentary pottery class and may qualify for high school or college credit.

Please note: Maine Prairie Studio currently only offers unpaid internships. All interns will be required to keep a journal or blog to record their experiences. Interns may take a class at no cost either during or after their internship.
