Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson, located in Kimball, Minnesota. Our studio's mission is to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, we support local, regional and national artists through internships, apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

Residencies at Maine Prairie Studio are one to three months in length and run year round. The residency provides the opportunity for focused time for studio work, with access to equipment, tools, glazes and kilns. 

Residencies:

  • Residencies at Maine Prairie Studio are one to three months in length and are available throughout the year.
  • The residency offers a dedicated period for studio work, providing equipment, tools, glazes, and kilns.
  • It includes a semi-private studio area with 24-hour access, accommodation, access to electric, gas, and wood firings, as well as opportunities for exhibitions, teaching, and sales, depending on experience and availability.
  • The residency fee is $800 per month, covering studio usage and accommodation. Residents are responsible for materials and firing costs. Financial aid is available based on need.
