Maine Prairie Studio

Our Mission

Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson, located in Kimball, Minnesota. The studio aims to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, Maine Prairie Studio supports local, regional and national artists through internships, apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

Beautiful set of dishes!

This set of dishes are absolutely beautiful, with stunning colors. I can tell I would be able to mix and match these and everything would look great because the size and forms are so consistent. Thank you for them!

Awesome experience!

We did the come and try it pottery wheel and had a great time, Megan and JD were great instructors and made it fun trying the wheel. Would definitely recommend anyone with any level of experience to come try it out!!

Winter pottery class

I have taken several classes at Maine Prairie and all are characterized by highly experienced and efficient instructors in a relaxed and fun environment that fosters creativity. In my most recent winter class, Megan went out of her way to individualize her teaching based on my specific interests. We are very fortunate to have such high caliber and friendly instructors like Megan and JD in our community.

Winter Pottery Class 2025

I really enjoyed the class. The layout of the Kimball pottery studio was fantastic for a class. All the different wheels for throwing, all the pottery supplies were available and wonderfully organized. Megan and JD are exceptional teachers and TA Claire, made the class time go by very quickly. Great hands on teaching and time to create what was of interest to us
