Maine Prairie Studio is the pottery studio of Megan and JD Jorgenson located in Kimball, Minnesota. Our studio's mission is to nurture creativity and elevate the ceramic arts through community education for rural Minnesotans. Additionally, we support local, regional and national artists through apprenticeships, retreats and residencies.

Residencies at Maine Prairie Studio are between 2 weeks up to three months in length. The residency provides the opportunity for focused time for studio work. Applicants should apply for this residency with a specific project in mind.

Residencies:

  • Residencies at Maine Prairie Studio are between two weeks and three months in length, and available June 1 - Nov 1.
  • Letter of Intent should outline applicant's project during their residency timeframe.
  • The residency offers a dedicated period for studio work, providing equipment, tools, glazes, and kilns.
  • The residency includes a semi-private studio area with 24-hour access, access to electric, gas, and wood firings, as well as opportunities for exhibitions, teaching, and sales, depending on experience and availability.
  • Residents are responsible for materials and firing costs. Housing accommodations are available based on need.
